My husband, sister-in-law and I went to Sun Valley for a week last year and had an incredible time. We are all strong intermediate to advanced skiers who will ski any blues and groomed blacks. We loved the free KART bus system, which runs from early morning 'til around midnight. It seemed we were the youngest (and least experinced) on the mountain as 30-somethings. I would like to note that IMHO all runs should be upgraded one level, i.e., green=blue, blue=black, black=double black, and double black=unthinkable. The weather was iffy, we got a few sunny days, then a storm (lifts were open, but we chose not to ski that day because visibility was nil), then a few cloudy days, and the snow was incredible (early February, as I recall). We flew into Ketchum, and were lucky to be the last plane in. If weather is bad, you may end up being bussed in from Boise. We plan to go back again in a couple of years when we are better skiers, and after trips to other mountains we've been meaning to ski, such as Whistler.
