Best Ski for Small Ski Hills

Thread Starter
I'm looking for advice as to what are the best skis for skiing on short ski hills. My local ski hill is listed as having a vertical drop of 250 ft and the runs are about 1000 ft long.

The runs are steep and short and I'm trying to figure out what are the best skis for this type of skiing. I'm at the hill all day every Saturday with the kids who are members of the local ski racing club. Because of this, I was thinking of getting a second pair of skis that would be best for skiing on short, steep conditions.

I'm 6' tall and weigh about 185 lbs and am a fairly aggeressive skier. I've noticed that most of the instructors are on slalom skis and my local ski shop has some "illegal" slalom skis from last year that they are clearing out (150 - 160 lengths).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fischer WC SC or Race SC in a 160. The former is a hefty ski, the latter a bit softer. Both of them have nice, tight radii and will carve through your "hardpack" with aplomb.

I second Steve's suggestion. I was out on my Race SCs this afternoon... the little green run that winds the whole area was made extra fun by those wicked little carvers... talk about skiing the slow line fast!

rrrrrrrrip it!
