Thanks for the useful tip. The link is on two lines and doesn't click, so I've taken the liberty of re-entering it for you: http://www.dimple1.demon.co.uk/skiin...off-piste.html

Last time I was in Val I bumped into a 75 year old guy who took me way out of bounds for the best untouched powder. He was amazing - he looked about 50, skied as fast as me (24!) and enjoyed every turn. I asked how he managed and he said, basically, that the two things in life that he loved were skiing and Scottish whisky, and that he just skied more than he drank - and that's the secret to life.

Anyway, I digress. If you go into the valley to the left as you look up from the bottom (sorry, can;t remember names) and take the lifts until you get to a T-Bar at the top. Go right up to the very top of that lift and hike skier's left about 500 yards. Then just pick your way down through the many bowls you see. It's fantastic, but one tip - keep up some speed at the bottom or you'll end up having to hike out again. You'll see where to head for because there's another t-bar pretty visible from all over the place.

I'm off to Courchevel at New Year - anyone here skied the Ugly Sisters?

Cheers

JB
