Copper or A-Basin

Copper by a country mile here. I've been to all the major resorts in the Denver area except for Winter Park, and AB is my least favourite. On the other hand, Copper is the best. Other than the Palavinci AB only has low angle slow lifts. Copper is so much more vast, with fast lifts. The Superbee pod might be the best high speed cruising you'll find anywhere. There's some good steep stuff in the east side of the resort, plus lots of bowls out back.

Copper by a ton.  I go to Copper and Winter Park a bunch.  I would probably only ski A-Basin in the late Spring, but I like Loveland a lot more in the Spring, especially with their cheap passes, a lot of bang for the buck.

I prefer Copper. Better cruisers, lifts, weather and terrain variety.

A Basin is a bit overrated by most IMHO :duck:

Here's a vote for Arapahoe Basin, although certainly nothing wrong with Copper.  I just don't know it as well.  What could be enticing for the OP is that A-Basin is pretty convenient for day trippers.  Free parking that is close by the lifts, easy to get to/from car.  Fairly compact trail layout that is easy to figure out in a one day visit.  High alpine scenery that is a nice contrast from Vail with alternative "local's" vibe.  Possibly cheap tickets off Liftopia.  Towards Denver airport.  But it's all good and Copper is convenient to I70.  Loveland might also be worth considering for last day.

No qualifiers?  Specific questions?  etc?  just open ended Copper or A basin?  I will offer a totally biased opinion and say Copper without hesitation.

Copper:  for me, ~65 days per year, bulk of mid-season.

A Basin: for me, ~25 days per year, mostly early and late, when Copper is closed or has limited runs with many racers early.

A Basin has Pali, a classic steep area that's unmatched for such terrain, and a wonderful mom & pop feel and ease of access.

But Copper is better in almost every other way, pretty much, except a shorter season - for me.

(I recommend and go to other front range areas too.)

Speaking of Copper, do they still have BOGO deals? I just saw the ticket prices are ?134!! I haven't been there in a few years but damn!

Oh, and I vote for Copper btw. Love that mountain.

Yes the prices have gone up but if you compare pricing with other close by resorts you will be even more "but damn!"

I think Bogo starts back up on January 2nd.

I used one of those Denver E book coupons a couple years ago. There's also liftopia.

Nope no qualifiers. The guy I'm going with has been out there and said chose one a basin or cooper for Sunday. So I asked.
