Ever heard of San Juan Untracked?  Was established a few years ago as a snowcat operations on 35,000 acres right next to Durango.  Took over from San Juan Skiing Company.  Fast forward to Oct 2016.  Durango went back to being called Purgatory thanks to James Coleman.  San Juan Untracked has been bought and will continue operations with the former owner as manager and staff under the name Purgatory Snowcat Adventures.

When San Juan Untracked opened, it was billed as the largest cat operation in the U.S.  For the 2016-17 season, can only claim Colorado.  Whisper Ridge in Utah is starting up and has 60,000 acres.

Thumbs Up

Maybe some time in the future after I find a few others willing to pony up for the cat skiing.  Have gotten comfortable enough off-piste to be curious.  But not interested in going solo.  Maybe if there were a mini-Gathering in your region.  <hint, hint>
