Most durable hard shell jacket on the market?

Hello Forum!

I am looking for a new hard shell for skiing, and was wondering if any of you could guide me towards the most durable of the hard shells out there.

The price doesn't matter, as i am looking for a jacket that will last for years to come.

So far i have considered the Norrøna Lofoten gore tex pro, or one of the Arcteryx shells.

Any other ideas, or personal recommendations?

Cheers

Agree with Arcteryx. Anything designated 'SV' equals 'severe duty'. Two shells come to mind - Sidewinder SV and Alpha SV

Trew Powfunk is as burly as anything made.

Arcteryx or norrona equally good.

Just watch the fit, norrona is made for Norwegians, tall and skinny.

Trew looks burly, but you waft goretex, not some"just as good as goretex"

Berghaus Ulvetanna Gore-Tex jacket from a few years back.

Love my Alpha SV...ripped the zipper off of it in a really nasty spill last year and they replaced the whole jacket with a brand new one for free. Arcteryx quality and warranty still worth the price!

Salomon Sideways 3L - My son has one that's  5 years old, so about 300 ski days including backcountry days, climbing (and skiing) through brush and boulders. Absolutely bomber jacket.  Still looks as new as day 1. Even smells new (after a few nikwax washings).  No other jacket he or I have owned has held up as well, and we've had some decent jackets.  Not sure what the current model is for that shell - he will be using again this year.

I'm a fan of the Lofoten Goretex Pro shell. While reasonably durable, it is not the toughest thing out there - it is made to be light and packable. It has the best pocket placement I've seen if you are going to wear a pack.
