That is Whitefish Mountain Resort.  Or Big Mtn as I (and many others) call it.

This pic is on my wall so I can always dream of skiing or being in town.

Whitefish Ski season

Here is pic with town in front.  The inverted "Y" is the usual trademark on the front side that allows for quick identification of WMR.

Looks a fabulous town and hill. I'll get there one day - most likely as part of a Montana/Idaho ski road trip.

Personally, I dream of skiing, not being in town...

You're not a native of Whitefish.....

The picture I put up is the view that I grew up with, the house that I lived in 0 - 22 years old. It has special meaning to me beyond skiing.

I lived next door to the grandchildren that founded Big Mountain. Went to school at the elementary school named for Mully Muldown. My dad pointed him out one day while he and I were skiing on the Big Mountain when I was little.

The view from the valley (note that it was not taken "from town") means a lot more to me than just skiing.

OMG. Seriously, this is a ski site. Got a bumper sticker? Congratulations. You didn't have to leave. Don't get your panties in a twist about a light remark.

Minor correction, since this made the front page. The picture was taken in May of 2010.

I can't wait to see a Texas tuck in a terrain park.

There's the always popular switch to the lift line

All this and no mention about how many generations your family has been there or any recitations of bible verses? I'm a little disappointed, you NW Montana locals must be slippin.

To get this thread back on track, I am not only dreamin of ski season at this point, but starting to go through withdrawals from not skiing for the last 6 months soon to be 7 :eek.  My first planned trip to Mammoth is mid December, but I am always praying for that mythical start to the season in November :snowfall

Being self employed, I can slow my business down by not advertising and I am looking forward to a bunch of skiing days December through February, before I get back to work in March of 2017.  I had a pretty good year, so I may even have to squeeze in a trip someplace if the snow delivery is less than normal at Mammoth in December or early January.

I miss skiing
