Is NBC going to show World Cup on TV this year in USA? Trying to find a way to watch the Solden races this year.

I hope so! But usually it's a week or two later...

So irritating how during the Olympics there's wall to wall coverage and then nothing as soon as it's over. But I guess they need to make room in the schedule for golf and darts. At least here in Canada...

And don't forget shuffleboard on ice!

The Soelden races and others will be on Universal HD.

I have Comcast as well. Last year I had to upgrade my service to Hi-Def to get the Universal HD.

Looks like they only going to show the women's on Saturday at 3PM?

Maybe show the Men's on NBC on Sunday? I can't find a mention of word cup skiing on NBC. Pretty sad.

Last few seasons I've enjoyed following FIS on UHD after upgrading my Comcast. They only seem to cover a limited number of the scheduled races.

I just re-upped my DISH package that includes UniversalHD.

It looks like the Men's GS will be carried on NBCSN Sunday 10/23 at 9:30pm Eastern time.

In the past I have found that I need to plan & research ahead of time to find races.  Many will be on UHD, others will be NBCSN & some like Beaver Creek will end up with partial coverage on NBC.

PITA!!

:rolleyes

Good Luck!

BTW, there is also this thread started a few weeks age.

Perhaps the mods can combine the two?

There's been 2 different and unrelated channels with the word universal that have carried the races in recent years. I've found that they have most races; search the dvr. Like someone else said NBC has a few. It's not too common that I can't find a race on tv though occasionally it happens.

I don't think I got the older Universal channel in my old subscription.

It would be nice if you could watch these On-Demand, but I haven't seen that in the past. I'll have to look after this weekend's Solden races. Maybe NBCSN will provide them On-Demand.

As mentioned in the USA the only option for World Cup alpine skiing is via NBC - occasional scheduled broadcasts on the NBC TV network, and more races "live" and on demand available online via NBC Sports streaming. Most of the latter content requires "activation", i.e., a login to a cable or satellite provider subscription which includes the NBC Sports channel, however it appears there are some races available on demand which do not require activation.

If you don't have a cable or satellite provider subscription you can go here...

  http://www.nbcsports.com/live#full-events-replays

You can then check the various World Cup alpine races listed to try and find one which does not require activation.

As of this writing yesterday's Men's Downhill broadcast from Val d'Isere is available...

As is last week's Women's Slalom from Killington...

  http://stream.nbcsports.com/nbc/?pid=28636   ( 90 Minutes )

This content also seems to be available via the ROKU NBC Sports app under the "Full Event Replay" section. The videos run straight through with no commercials and no commentary.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) channel on Youtube also has some content which might be of interest to those who can't access the races live...

The individual videos in the playlist above run oldest at top to newest at bottom.

Don't forget Universal HD (owned by NBC) which is showing many of the races too (in addition to various freestyle ski and snowboard events, and the occasional other winter sport, like bobsledding).

As we've already discussed most of the races are on Universal HD. There are a few races on the NBC sports channel. There's almost nothing on the regular NBC network; This channel only ever broadcasts the races in the US, so this year that only means Killington, since Beaver Creek was canceled. Those of us in some northerly states can also watch on Canadian channels, but the Canadian channel coverage is abysmal, as bad as the regular NBC network coverage. This weekend it's a mix of Universal and NBC Sports.

Men's Downhill is currently on local NBC station.  Maybe because is was supposed to be from Beaver Creek.

With Bode doing color commentary.  He's good, just uses the word "mistake" a bit too much.
