BEST SONGS TO SKI TO! need suggestions! - Page 3

If you're gonna play music in a public area that others may hear, there is only one answer... Led Zeppelin! Everyone likes Zep & the few that don't can't be trusted anyway. I would begin with "Immigrant Song" but "Achilles Last Stand" works as well & the louder the better!

Wholeheartedly agree, and not just for the appropriate name. Try the beautiful and dramatic cover version by X-Japan (Yoshiki) from the "Kiss my Ass" tribute album

Well, true ... if one is too dysfunctional to augment loss of environmental hearing with a compensatory deviation of the remaining modes of reception. Conveniently, it is usual that this level of dysfunctionality results in a lack of ability to make it to the ski area in the first place.

Not just old guys.  The musical prowess of the mighty Zeppelin appeals to all generations!

& just to support the fact that this is no run of the mill, computer enhanced cookie cutter band, a live version...

:cool

LOL, yeah nothing original about Zep :rolleyes.  It's all just a bunch of Robert Johnson re-do's.

I think these two songs are at least somewhat their own, although I always thought Immigrant song sounded familiar...  I wonder if the Rodgers & Hammerstein estate is suing?

(Bali Ha'i).:dunno

I hear as of last night the Rolling Stones are now a Beatles cover band :eek

The Immigrant Song always makes me think of Joker and the Thief by Wolfmother. They're not that similar musically, but have the same kind of "drive" to them I think...

Luv Wolfmother!  They are often compared to Zeppelin.  Maybe Jimmy should sue them ;)

This is one of the only albums I listen to in its entirety while skiing, most of the cuts are on my 'ski music' playlist. Came out in 2010. Try it you might just like it. Some nice cruising music no matter how hard you are pushing the peddle.
