Salomon X Max 130 vs Fischer Full Fit 140

Dear Boot Guys please offer your opinions on a VERY soft question.

I currently ski a Salomon X Max 130, I ski mostly in GS gates. I have a pair of Lange World Cup ZB that I really prefer but are too cold and wet for all day use. However the biggest problem with the Langes is they are a bit hard on my rebuilt knee, the biggest problem with the Sollys is that I can crush them without too much trouble. I am getting new boots this month, I want the Fischer RC4 Vacuum, ideally they should flex somewhere between the 130 Sollys and the ZB Lange. Should I get the 130 or the 140 Fischer?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

140 and make them softer if needed.

Why do you think the Fischer will flex somewhere between the two?  More importantly why do you want the Fischer?  It is shaped very differently from the Lange.  If the Lange is simply too stiff, why not just get it softened and a little tape will solve any leaking problem.

I see I misinterpreted your post.  I don't sell either boot  but I think your are isolating one factor (flex) without realizing there are other factors at work here.   Different forward lean angles will stress your knee differently.  A more upright boot will move more shock through the knee joint, while a more forward boot will ease the shock but work you quads more.

Zeppa ramp angle will also have an effect as it will help determine how easily you can stand strong and balanced in the boot or how much your stance moves forward and backward through the turn.

The Lange has a great flex, it's just too wet and cold. The Solly is too soft and I have heard mixed reviews about how stiff the Fischer 130 is. However since I posted the question I have acquired both a 130 and a 140 Fischer. So far they feel similar to the Lange ZB but once I get them out into the cold I will have a better idea of the relative flex. I don't think one should have to apply duct tape to a $1,000 boot to seal it, the solly's have a silicone weather strip why don't the Langes?
