RIP Trevor Sexsmith

Thread Starter

I am sad to  report that one of the best young ski mountaineers in the Canadian Rockies has died in an early season avalanche near Lake Louise. On Sunday, Trevor Sexsmith of Golden, BC was caught in an class 1 avalanche on Mount Victoria, the mountain that forms the backdrop to Lake Louise.. According to reports, the slide swept him over a very large cliff.

Although I didn't get a chance to meet Trevor, a few of my friends have skied with him. He will be missed by many.

Trevor wasn't' well known by the general public, but well respected in his community.

If you would like to know more about his inspiring adventures, please have a look at his blog.

RIP Trevor, thanks for sharing your amazing world with us.

He posted here on Epic very early on (@angrysasquatch) when he skied at KH. I remember talking to him about a trip I took up there.. In the years since then it was fun (and inspiring) to watch through his blog as he progressed to become a well respected and prolific adventure skier in the rockies, skiing lines and peaks most of us only dream about. He'll be missed by many in the community, condolences to his friends and family.
