I assume that's a given. 

 

And he should put at a relatively high priority the best coaching and training program he could find during his college hunt.

Well, I wouldn't make a big deal of that. My daughter goes there. Never heard it mentioned once from her -- not that the legend for certain isn't there. Don't believe everything you hear from the Internet.

Also, while WC is private, they do offer a decent share of merit scholarship to good students to help defray the cost. Also, if you make it to the USST, tuition is covered. If I were you, I would focus on doing two things: get your HS grades up and find a boarding school with a decent winter athletic program. That way, you can set yourself up to chase after Plan A or Plan B once you graduate.
