This is my first post at EpicSki forums so Hi all :)

I'm in transition to parallel turns and I rent equipment, so if anyone can tell me when should I consider to buy my equipment (skiis, boots, etc).. after or before parallel turns skiing stage?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome mursel.  Hard question to answer.  How many times do you think you'll ski this season?

If you're going to be skiing regularly getting your own equipment is a great idea, you won't progress too fast for what you buy if you buy wisely.

The most important piece of equipment is boots, so buying a good pair of boots, with the help of a competent bootfitter would be the best thing you could do.

Last two seasons here in Bosnia&Herzegovina were terrible at least...there wasn't much of snowing.. so it's hard to say.

Unfortunately I already figured out that boots are most important equipment... my friend borrowed me once a boots with 110 flex so you can imagine how my legs felt after a two or three runs :) and besides that I was total newbie in skiing.

Thanks for the tips.

Yeah that would be a stiff boot for a beginner!

Owning skis makes it so much easier, show up at the resort, put on boots - ski.

Plus you'll get used to the equipment and will ski better on it than changing equipment every time.

Only reason to rent is if you're only going a couple of times a year. (Or if you can't afford to buy :)  )

Yes.. sometimes at the resort they have boots only size 44 and sometimes 45 and I'm wearing 44
