Greeting all. I've been researching a trip/location that would be great for myself, who would love to ski a few days and my wife who does not ski and would shop, hang put, go to a movie etc... but also we would love to do some odds and ends like hot springs, gondola dinner a scenic drive etc. Both Banff and Steamboat have mostly the same things, but I am wondering if anyone can chime in and let me know if there are "lounges" in either of these places where a non-skier could camp out in a chair and read or just watch the skiing. I know there are restaurants, but I am envisioning a cafe type of atmosphere where there is something more comfortable than a dinner chair for someone to hang for a bit.
Next I would love input on Mt. Norquay should anyone have an opinion on it. There is some information on it out there but I am wondering if it would suffice for a few days of skiing or would one get burned out on it after half a day as it seems really small acreage-wise...I 'm actually finding it hard to believe its 1/2 acres of the Cascade mountain here in Madison WI...I can't hardly reconcile that one...maybe I' m missing something. Anyway...
I enjoy all greens & blues and will tackle easy western blacks if it isn't solid ice. I really love trees too. Curious whether Norquay has much to offer in this regard, or do I pretty much resolve myself to going to Lake Louise and or Sunshine?
Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much
