Why is the NSP website so difficult to figure out.

I got notified that local ski hill here as accepted me as a candidate for the patrol and I am trying to register on the NSP site and I cannot for the life of me figure out where to go to register/pay dues. This should be an easy thing to do...

I believe that since you are a candidate, you will be unable to register on the NSP website (or acces it) since you do not have an NSP number.

I suggest you contact the patrol's Patrol Director and/or Secretary and discuss your concerns with him/her/them.

Your supposed to be able to register as an associate member regardless. I eventually got to it but I couldn't tell you how to get back there

If you remove the word "website" from your thread, you might be looking at the answer.

Follow up question. Any got an OEC 5th edition they would be willing to sell?

Congrats! The new NSP website was just rolled out and is a major challenge and source of frustration for all, glad to hear you got through.

My book is really marked up from last fall and I will be using it again this fall. Amazon used book pricing is slightly discounted.

Good luck!

Yes the new website is a both a pain and nicer than the old one, I think its a bit easier to find stuff, but at the same time it is not very intuitive to take the first few steps to access it either as a new candidate or as a returning patrol director (myself). As usual tho, I got bored in the middle of exporting my patrol roster and ended up window shopping for new gear again..

Since I have to tell someone how to do this, I figured I'd take a look. Open nsp.org - up on the top you have the choice to either log in or create an account. Since the person is new, select create an account. Set it up and when you log in you are on a page that has the choice of Members or Become an Associate member ... think that's all that is needed ... I didn't take it beyond that point to see what happens when pick become an associate member ...

So looking forward to this year's refresher when we have half the group show up and say "register ahead? I didn't know I had to do that" ...despite having been sent several emails with directions on exactly what to do ... and for some of them actually having been to in person meetings where it was discussed as well...

I had to get set up for the OEC refresher and what a pain that was
