Hello all - i'm hoping some of the knowledge here can point me in the right direction for my first set of skis?
I'm going on my second season of east coast skiing in North Carolina so I'd guess i'm slightly past beginner but on the lower side of intermediate. This year I'm hoping to get 15-20 days in with most all of them being east coast with maybe a trip out west for spring skiing if time allows. I did purchase some atomic live fit boots this year which made a big difference. They may be a bit stiff but I'm guessing I can grow into them. For reference i'm 6'4 and 205 lbs.
I spent some time in ski shops this past weekend and got too many differing opinions on what I should buy and even what waist / length I need.
Am I doing myself a disservice if I get something with a waist as narrow as a 75? I've seen some good deals on the rossignol experience 75 but reviews seem better for skis in the 80-88 range for east coast skiing? Length should be 176 - 180 from what i've read?
My primary goal is to buy something that I can progress with. It's not overly important to be all mountain skis I can take anywhere, but if there was a good option that allowed that i'd consider it.
Thanks for any help.
