Hello epic ski I seem to be having a bit of trouble deciding on skis. I'm 5' 5" and 97 pounds. The two skis Ive been debating are the line tiger snakes and The faction Candide 4.0jr. I plan to mount rossignol fks 120's on them. I ski 60% park and 40% All mtn. any other ski suggestions are welcome. my budget for skis is around $350 since i have to pay for my own skis. And im to young to get a job. Thanks

How much do you expect to grow in the - say - two coming seasons? I can imagine that you seek out a cheap (probably sup-optimal) ski for now and really invest once your body has stopped growing.

I don't know how old you are, so I can't really say - but, if you're planning to hit a growth spurt, you might be better off saving your $$, and renting demo skis until you stop growing. Sure, if you really want to buy, there are plenty of shops that will take your money. If you were to buy a ski now, who's to say you won't outgrow it half way through the season?

Save those FKS 120's for a ski you KNOW you're going to love. Maybe look into buying a pair of demo skis - they are usually easier to get rid of after you're done with them (if in good shape) due to not having to be re-mounted by the next guy.

Almost anyone here (myself included) would also tell you to invest in some good boots first - BEFORE you start looking into buying skis. You're situation is unique because you are still growing.
