Time to replace skis

Thanks for the invitation.
I ski 70 to 90 days per year on Volkl RTM 81's for the frontside and Volkl Gotama's for backcountry. I'm a fairly agressive skier. How many days of use can I expect before considering replacing with new skis?
Thank you.

Hi Clay — welcome to Epic!

Opinions vary on that question. Some people say 200 days, some people less, and some say it depends what you want.  Some people's skis are pretty dead, have been for years, and they don't care.

If you've skied two 90 day seasons on the same ski, you push hard, maybe you weigh a lot, and you feel as if edge grip (torsional stiffness) and rebound energy (not an RTM trait) are failing, you might be ready to justify a new pair. :D But opinions vary.

If you're ready to ask about skis, check out this article: http://www.epicski.com/a/five-key-questions-when-buying-new-skis and come back here with your answers to the "Five Key Questions."

Good luck.
