Kastle BMX 108 (195 cm) Salomon q-mtn lab (190 cm) - two of the best skis for hard chargers.

These skis are my current daily drivers when I'm out west Jackson/Revy/Squaw/Snowbird. On days when I am looking to stick to hard pack, I will turn to a ski with a little less underfoot but for the most part these skis are great additions to any hard chargers quiver. Really stable at speed and like to be skied hard. The only thing I would change is that the BMX has a 40 meter radius which is a little big for anything other than just pointing em' at all times. I think a 30-35 would make this ski much more fun and still keep the send meter fully maxed out. Does anyone else have these skis and share a similar opinion?

Not super sure about the BMX but I rode the Q Lab for 10 days last season and that thing crushed! It beat me up a bit but when I was on my game I was invincible! Carved better than any ski of that width that I have been on. Not a great pow ski for the width and oddly soft tip compared to the unbendable tail but for some reason it really worked for me!

40 meter turning radius? My garage door has more character.

I skied the old BMX briefly; superb crushing big lines in chop. But I'm a turn-monger, and they weren't. The new versions have more sidecut, are apparently far more maneuverable without losing too much stability. Cannot speak to the Sollies. Last one I skied was the X-Scream.

You might think about some other brands; ON3P makes some similarly beefy candidates, as does Praxis. I'm not a Cochise fan but it's very popular around here if you want a strong ski with a more modern sidecut.
