Best of luck! The ski world needs more places like this, the social aspect of what skiing was has been gone, the sport is not the same without it.

All the best mate.  Will send any referrals I can your way.

The thread tittle got me going. As I was clicking on the title, I'm thinking, How can this be the first Boutique Hotel in Vail, and why would you call it The Bunkhouse. lol

Nice looking and nice to see some bargain priced accommodation.

This is great. I might make it to Vail after all!

Outstanding!  I should remind all that this is a ski-in accommodation.;)  I have ridden the public bus system from Minturn to Vail (about five miles) and from the top of Game Creek chair skied the Minturn Mile back to Minturn.  Bit of a haul, but a fun offpiste adventure.  Very nice to offer us a discount.  I spent two weeks in Minturn in Feb 2015.  To soon for the Bunkhouse, but maybe I'll return?  Not a real fancy town, but Minturn's got a decent little selection of dining spots and shops.

PS:  Townicus, your first link returns to this thread, not Bunkhouse website.

@Townicus tells me their open house went very well. Also not something mentioned in his post, but something we discussed privately is that they're going to have a good selection of craft beers on hand as well. Given how popular that what are you drinking right now thread is I'm sure that our readers will appreciate that too.

BTW if you want to check out the Bunkhouse get your cameras ready. They've donated a two night stay next winter to the winner of one of our image of the month contests in the fall.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR/Northland Properties) are opposed to a neighbouring property owner's proposed Tree House Hotel consisting of a main lodge and tree house living pods.

I have been a critic of Revelstoke ownership and management from day one:

http://www.revelstokecurrent.com/2016/07/22/the-tree-house-hotel-controversy-an-interview-with-david-evans/

After Tom Gaglardi bought RMR he also bought the NHL's Dallas Stars which quickly became his new favourite toy. He is on record as saying that if he had it to do over again he would not buy RMR. So RMR development has stalled and they are opposing neighbouring development. IMO RMR is owned and operated by idiots who have little ski industry experience.

The Treehouse Hotel will be nothing like this. It's most likely going to be high end, probably rivalling the Sutton Place in price.

That's not what the developer seems to be implying in the interview in the link in my previous post. But I guess they could be high priced luxury living pods.
