Hi all, I'm looking for a ski for my Instructor coarse/exams for level 1&2. I'm still waiting on some emails as to weather I will be doing it here in Australia or New Zealand. A bit about me I'm 168 cm at 70-72kg I'm Intermediate Advanced ski 70/30 piste/powder 1 month a year overseas Japan/USA & 1 month Perisher Australia so piste. My current skis are 178 Line sir francis bacons &  170 Volkl AC 30.

The ski I'm looking for 70-85  waist 14-16 turn radius. Just after suggestions on what I should look to demo.

Any Information would be much appreciated

Head Rally would be near the top of the list.

Head Rally, I take it this is what you ski ? what are they like ? what year ski ? length ? bindings ? what length should I demo ? ect, tell me some more, like where you ski, terrain ect ? THX

I concur, Head Rally. Also to consider Head Titan. Do a search on the forum. Lots of reviews. I demoed the Rally and almost bought it. The only reason I didn't buy one is I already had a Head Magnum (72mm) and Titan (80mm). Both skis are 170cm. I have the first year of the new design. (black top sheet) I believe it's listed as 2013-2014.

Both Markojp (or I think he does) and I ski on the Titan.. Great all around ski. I have the system bindings PRX 12's on mine. I ski them everywhere. on them easy groomers when teaching all the way to double black diamonds, crud, bumps, etc.

Demo the 170's if that's what you are currently comfortable with.

My general teaching ski is a Head Rev 85 pro... I've skied a fair amount on the Titan and passed my PSIA L3 on them and still teach on them from time to time. My choice of the Titan is because of my size and the general off piste condtions we ski around here (PNW). The rally is a great all around carver that works really well for guys your size.

FWIW, next season I'll ski on a Head Monster 88 (184) and most likely a Rebels iSpeed (180). I'll still have the Titans, and the Revs will be remounted for telemark.

Thanks guys for the info on the Rally ect. Well I have looked at pages of reviews regarding the Head Supershape Rally and they sound like a great ski straight out of the wrapper. I will most defiantly demo the 163 & 170, as I'm not sure of what will fell better as an over all ski. Head Titan sounds like another great ski from all the reviews so I will demo theses to. The Head Rev 85 sound like a great ski but IMO to wide for the purpose I want them for. A price here from SkiDept.com for the 16/17 Rally with PRX 12 bindings AU $1449.

Indeed, the Rev 85/Monster88 are probably wider that you need for your venue.

Yep i agree, bought some new Rally's [ older model ] [ really cheap ], if I don't like them then I'll sell them, no time or snow to demo at this price. But from what I've read here on the forums & many others on the net I think they will be a great ski for what I'm buying them for.

I.ll keep you up to date when i clip em on and point em south :ski

Cheers Ardy

If you can demo, try the Nordica Firearrow.
