How short is too short for skins?

Hi experienced backcountry skiers,

I bought some Line skins for my Super 7. I had to order online due to living in the east. The skins seem to be a bit short. I read that skins don't have to cover the rocker part but I am not sure. Can you guys have a look at the attached pictures and tell me if I should return them? Thanks.

Full coverage is the gold standard, but most of us rarely have that since we try to use a single set of skins for multiple skis - you should be fine with that minimally exposed tail.

You are fine.  Looks like you have coverage edge to edge.  Just not the whole tip and tail.  Fwiw, most of your traction is from the area underfoot and grip lessens as you extend out from there.  Not to say that you get no traction further out from your foot, it's just not as much.  By the time you are at the tip and tail, it's pretty much nothing.  Don't worry about it.

Thanks guys. I'll keep the skins then.
