Congrats!!!  Two in college right now, so I can only dream of such a schedule.

How long for the shoulder recovery?  I'll find out Monday how much work must be done to mine.

I got a raise when my boys quit racing and went to college.

Tuition, books and living on campus was cheaper than ski racing at the J1 level!

I've got quite a few $1000 coffee cups............wait, you mean I've got to figure in gear cost, tuning/wax stuff costs, clinic costs and more?

:D  well, i have retired 4 times now and made it last 9 months this time, longest so far...

My shoulder.  Suffered a 3rd degree separation in august, 2 weeks before I was due to head to Chile, thought I was SOL but oath said it was OK to go.  Had repair surgery late october and was back on snow in 4 weeks although i gave it 8 weeks before i raced and missed the first races of the season

Take the luck and enjoy life while you can. At least you can say you lived it to the fullest.wink.gif

Worth every penny.

Thanks- that's good news regarding recovery- I should be GTG well before the season starts.  Was thinking about Mt. Hood this summer but we'll see...

I was training GS. Actually had a great run. Much better line!

The mountain had not groomed skiers right down at the run out as usual and the banner kinda of moved you right. So I was on the flats quite a ways from the last gate. Was skiing to Marty who was coaching and standing at the end of the bannering, light was a little flat . Began a right footed turn and unbeknownst and inadvertently skied directly into untracked snow whihc immediately ripped my right ski off!

I went down so quickly...didn't even know what happened. There was a layer of solid refrozen ice under the 5 inches of new and my shoulder took the direct hit, right on the superspinatus/bicep tendon and acromion. It has been over 9 weeks. Some PT, no broken bones...but still not right. My bicep tendon feels like it is slipping in and out of the bicipital groove.

Can't play tennis which is freaking killin' me! I usually play singles 4 or 5 days a week.

Waiting to hear from the ortho guy on the MRI done Tuesday. I am hoping for a Cortisone shot and rest!
