Sun Valley---MLK weeekend?

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with how Sun Valley typically is for crowds over MLK weekend? Obviously I know it will be busier than a typical weekend, but exactly how crowded are we talking? (I'd be skiing Fri, Sat, Sun and flying back on Mon)

I normally try to avoid skiing holiday weekends, but I want to try and get in more days next year so am willing to go somewhere that won't be completely flooded with people. I have the Mountain Collective and already committed to getting my extra day at Sun Valley, so I know I will be going there at some point during the season (my other choice would be the first weekend in March). Thanks

I have skied Sun Valley 4 out of the last 5 MLK weekends and it has not been busy.  Frankly, I have never been to Sun Valley when it was busy except one Thanksgiving quite a few years ago when they did not have a lot of natural snow or good snowmaking conditions so everybody (not that there were that many people skiing) were funneled onto the few open runs with very slick conditions.  We typically ski Saturday to Tuesday rather than Friday to Sunday with Tuesday being basically empty.

I think you would have to wait for no more than a couple of groups on most lifts except Warm Springs (Challenger) or Seattle Ridge once the initial crowds clear the base areas.

Shouldn't be any problem at all.

I've gone there the last 6 MLK weekends (actually the entire week) and it's always pretty empty. The closest to crowded it gets is difficulty finding an empty free cubby in River Run lodge for my street shoes and such.

Basically, sun valley is the best place to go during any kind of holiday / crowded period, as it will be less crowded than almost anywhere else you'd go. Crowds at SV mean waiting behind 10-20 people to get on a high speed quad , not waiting for 10-20 minutes.

For a visual reference, the attached pic was taken at 1:54pm on the Sunday of President's Day weekend in February 2014, normally even busier than MLK weekend. This is the main River Run base area. Observe the huge crowds and lift line typical of Sun Valley on a holiday weekend.
