hi, whiteroom. was that just general instructions for system bindings? I tried from the front but the plate flares and there is no track in the middle of the plate. The front wont accept the heel piece. It will only slide on from the rear. Damn. Guess i actually will have to pay a volkl dealer to put the heel pieces on. I hate that! Thanks for taking the time to reply, though.
UPPDATE: In case anyone else finds themselves baffled by this, thought I would share what I discovered. The heel piece does indeed slide on from the rear. Push until the worm screw threads hit a metal plate. The screw at the base of the heel ppiece needs to cranked steadily until the indicator at the front of heel reaches your boot sole size. My mistake ws thinking that the screw was a traditional forward pressure adjuster with limited travel. I stopped turning after three or four cranks. Apparently it is dual pupose. It moves the heel up the track and then serves as forward pressure regulator. When i installed it correctly and with the boot in the binding, the screw face is flush with the housing, which is historically the correct forward pressure for Marker for its performance and race bindings.
Anyway. Hope this helps some other knothead.
