The 2016/17 skis were out from numerous manufacturers including, 4frnt/ON3P/Kitten Factory/Head/Atomic/Sego/Line/Armada/Scott and some others. conditions in the morning were pretty firm so I didn't get to really put the LIne Bacons/Mordecais to the test in the morning. Those 2 skis felt great overall but aren't exactly what your looking for on fast firm groomers. The 3rd ski I took out of the line tent was the new Supernatural 108's. these are really nice boards that had much better edge hold on for the mornings conditions. Didnt see much chatter on the tips when approaching mach one either. really impressed with this ski.
Took an early lunch break to let things soften up a bit before trying out more skis. Around noon I pulled out the newly redesigned Armada ARV 106's in 180cm. I put these to the test on High T right away and these handled the traverse and inconsistent snow conditions very nicely. thumbs up to Armada on these- would make a great daily driver.felt super light and responsive.
Next out of the tents came the new Atomic Bent Chetlers in 185cm
these skis really blew me away! i felt as tho i had been skiing on them all season and proceeded to rip the trees off Wildcat . the tip/tail have a really cool conclave design like a spoon . These skis were super stable and didnt get bounced around at all in the slushy bumps we were hammering down . confidence inspiring to say the least. 185 is a bit longer than i normally ski but these didnt feel that long. remarkable how easy these were to turn and the edge hold in suspect conditions was great.
it appears the technology hasn't changed much from 2016 from the specs i have read. if i am wrong somebody correct me. ( cause yeah ill probably be purchasing 2016's to save some loot)
Demo day paid off, i found next years powder ski . I cant wait to strap these on for a big dump next winter! just have to get through the dreaded warm season!!
