My best VF in a week at Snowmass

I had my personal best vertical feet at Snowmass at 118k. It was over 6 days and at 58 I'm happy. What's your best VF in a week.

I've only skied for a whole week 1 time, earlier this year in Aspen. I hit ~114K over 6 days. That's a good number for me, especially without any rest days!

I suspect some folks on here would be more in the 200K realm for 6 days.

Yeah people that live out West will probably laugh at that number, but for an OH skier it's not bad. Next year I'll try to break my record. I used "Ski Tracks" for my record keeping.

Without strenuous investigation, I'm guessing the best was this in 2007, when I was 56:

3/12 16 25,588
3/13 17 25,759
3/14 17 24,858
3/15 29 51,901

Did you all use ski tracks

I use an altimeter. Then I write it in a spreadsheet. I have records going back to 1989. The resort here also posts vertical, but if you rely on that, you'll be all upset when the lifty takes a potty break. I usually lose a run about two out of three days due to lifties being otherwise occupied.

Yes, that's what I use. Some people use altimeter watches or gps watches that will track you. There are also several other apps - Trace Snow being the one I've heard the most about.

And of course at some resorts the lift entries will record which lifts you took and add things up for you that way.

That is impressive, but does using 6 days out of 8 count as a week? My highest 7 day vertical on road trip in Feb 2015 where we drove through Whitefish, but did not ski due to marginal conditions, was 197.4K. That string starts with Big Sky, includes the Targhee day of the Gathering, then 3 days at Jackson, one Solbright day, then two Altabird days (2nd day was all Bird). The lowest day's vertical was under 22K on day I quit skiing at Jackson at 1:30 to drive to SLC.  If I go to eight days, I can add day at Discovery that gets me to 219K.

You're right, it picked up an eight day span to get six days of skiing. Since my "schedule" is skiing five days out of seven, it would have to. Not going to go through decades of data to find the magic combination. Happened to see that combo when I went back to my biggest day.

The local guy trying to win a new record (okay, he already won weeks back) looks on track now to hit 8 million for the season. He's at 7,775,896 feet this morning. I'm sure he's got us all beat. He did 71,000 the other day without the help of night skiing. That's one day. If we do the math on his average at 125 days of season so far, his six day total is more than a lot of people's whole seasons. I've heard various reports of his high days, all over 100,000 feet, but since I haven't ridden the chair with him, I wouldn't peg that number.

Best 4 day period this season was 74,907, which averages to 18,726 per day. I use Ski Tracks, but usually at least one day during any ski vacation I forget to turn it on until sometime after the first run. I used to reliably to forget to turn it on after lunch, but now just leave it running all day.
