Gauthier and North Pole at Abasin

It's been many years since I've skied North Pole at Abasin. Would you say it is the same as or harder than Gauthier. I ski Gauthier every year and am wondering if I still could do North Pole.

Gauthier is steeper and tighter. North Pole is a little more exposed, depending on how you get into it, but the skiing is easier.

Thanks!

Yeah, the entrance to North Pole is usually a little sketchier as I recall, but otherwise, Gauthier (and much of Palli) is tougher. Unless there's a ton of snow, it can be a pretty tiny skiable slot to enter the North Pole chute. Often looks scarier than it actually is...nothing a little billygoating won't fix. North Pole just feels like more of an "event" due to the approach and entrance. Good skiing on both!

Hopefully it's not too late to ski it this year. Always nice to point at the chutes and say "I can ski that." smile.gif

If you hang out in the alleys, the north pole will be no problem at all. 3rd notch is easy street. 4th isn't even a challenge for you. Worth doing for sure.
