True story

A guy I used to work with had a bit to much to drink one night ( a common occurrence with " Tom " )when he staggered out of the pub to go home , he couldn't find his car . So he goes back inside and asks the bar made if he can use the phone to report his car stolen to the police . Meanwhile the barmaid walks outside to double check and sees his car in the lot . She tells Tom she found his car and he happily jumps in and heads for home . The cops ,responding to his call and having the description of the "stolen" vehicle pull him over . He is busted for his 3rd DWI . Tom is the only guy I know that has called the cops on himself .

OMG I had this happen. No DWI thankfully. Years ago in St. Louis I went to where I thought I had parked my car @ A meter. It was gone. Called a cab went home. In the morning I reported my car as stolen. In another cab going to get a rental car I decided to "look" one more time. There it was, one block away in the same "spot". Went to take a client to lunch, was pulled over. Cop with Gun drawn came to the side. I have to say I could not figure out why I was pulled over. This is the story I tell when I get the most embarrassing story question.

I will admit that there have been times in my youth when I " lost " my car , but I always knew not to look that hard for it . It always showed up the next day .
