Cottonwood Canyons 4/7-4/12

Hello! I am currently planning a trip to Utah next week...although I am bitter that I am not there now since this is the week I originally had on the books! Anyway, I am glad to be going regardless. My question is about the resorts and the crowds on the weekend and which resorts to choose. A little background, my husband and I are advanced skiers. We have skied Alta and Solitude previously. This time I was planning to hit a different resort each day to include Alta, Snowbird, Snowbasin and another unnamed as of yet (Powder MT maybe, but they close next weekend).

I am planning Alta for Friday, but the rest of the weekend through Monday is open. Can the Utah experts please weigh in on their thoughts for resorts to ski to avoid crowds and maximize fun?

TIA!

Cool, enjoy your visit! Unless there's a big powder day, you probably won't run into crowds anywhere. Saturday, 4/9 is Alta's Demo Day, so it might be a bit more crowded--but you also might want to take advantage of free demos. I'd definitely encourage you to give Brighton a try--it's a fun area that skis bigger than it is, with few tourists and a local clientele who are more focused on warm-weather activities by now.

It's too soon to know what the weather will be like when you're here, but keep in mind that the Cottonwood Canyon areas are all significantly higher-elevation than Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, or the Park City areas. With spring conditions, that elevation change can make a big difference. Still, if conditions are nice, I'd say it's well worth checking out Powder Mountain before they close... and it definitely won't be crowded.

Hi @SnowKitten - Welcome to EpicSki!! I moved your post to the resorts & travel forum as the more appropriate one, so hopefully more folks skiing or travelling in Utah will see it and be able to comment.
