Most kilometers skiing in one day?

Hey guys,

just wondering what are your personal bests for skiing in one day? I just did 33 369 vertical meters in one day in Nassfeld, Austria, which included 208 downhill kilometers. I am looking for similar records in other Ski resorts across the world - thanks for sharing!

check out my video!

Vail resorts stopped promoting 1day vertical after 1 year as a competitive statistic as it was pushing people to take extra runs where they would get injured. I think it also is a meaningless record to chase even from a personal standpoint.

I don't know about distance, but my vertical record is 105,600 ft or 32.2km. That's really tough number to hit.

In 50 years of skiing I've never added up either my mileage or vertical for a day. Must be something the matter with me. (I have started counting ski days per season, so maybe there's hope for me yet.)

Only reason I know was that it was participating in a vertical challenge. 50 runs was the max before they pulled you off the hill. It's very difficult to get much over 100k ft in one day. You need a very fast lift and a straight shot down.

Here's a guy who is racking up big vert daily. The article is slightly dated. He's up to 6,769,628 feet through yesterday for the season, which hasn't ended yet. http://flatheadbeacon.com/2016/03/15/first-time-pass-holder-surpasses-6-million-vertical-feet-and-counting-2/

You need a lot of things to go just right: steep lift, no lines, no/few lift stops, a long ski day and ideally a run/lift closed to the public.  Most ski areas it's not possible without night skiing.

I think Mr. Bell would have the record here.  I worked the 24 Hours of Aspen many years and he skied in it at least once.

Over 220,000ft. vertical and 200 miles.
