I'm looking for some help to buy my first pair of skis. I'm a 5ft 6in male about 150lbs I ski groomed runs, powder and I like to go into the trees I will occasionally go into the park and hit jumps but no rails I would say I'm an intermediate-advanced skier I mainly ski in colorado and California but I'm hoping to go up to Washington next season. I'm kinda on a budget so I wouldn't like to spend more then 400$(on just the skis). I usally ski about a 160cm but thats been with rentals i dont know if i should go higher or stay about the same but i do like the length also where would be the best binding placement?

Welcome to Epic.  The mantra here is boots first, skis second.  Truthfully, if your boots don't fit you feet correctly, it really doesn't matter about the skis.  Go to the "Ask the Boot Guys" forum and read the wikis about fitting and terminology, also read the article on the main page of this forum about why boots are most important.  The check the "Who's Who" for a boot fitter near you.  If you live in CO, you're in luck because there are several that are very good.  Do that first, then come back and we'll talk about skis.
