Skiing in Walk/Hike Mode

Thread Starter

This is a stupid question, which probably has been asked before. But I couldn't find any thread on this so I'll ask anyway.

What happens when you ski in walk/hike mode? Not that efficient, perhaps? Does it damage the boots?

Thank you in anticipation.

There is no stiffness to the cuff so probably not much happens.  Unless you get in the backseat.  then you fall.

for just about everyone, what Lou said

For a few, with almost no ankle range of motion, and large calves, this is the only way they CAN ski.

For boots with crappy walk modes, and tighter buckles and easy terrain, for high end skier, it might not make much difference.
