Drilling Atomic 2013 D2 plate possible?

Hi

I was looking at swapping some Fischer bindings off a Fischer JR GS ski (2010 or so) to a 2013 Atomic Jr GS ski with a D2 plate that normally takes X series race bindings. I know the Atomic comes pre drilled, but is it a solid plate (like all the Fischers I have) that I could redrill or a reinforced plate that can only use the existing holes?

Well, now that I have them, it looks as though the Fischers won't fit on the D2 plate. Not only is it predrilled (unlike a Fischer plate) and more fragile looking than the Fischer, but there are more attachment points from the plate to the ski that take up room.

Plus there is a special warning on the plate itself not to drill extra holes in case of breakage.

So the question is now to find a reasonably priced Atomic X race binding to fit. The X12VAR will fit for sure but is very expensive. Would the X12, X12TL or X12TI all have the same bolt pattern?

Some pictures, illustrating the issues if someone else is thinking of doing the same thing:

It is possible to redrill depending on the BSL and the binding.  I have mounted salmons on them in the past

I think the regular X (VAR) hole pattern is slightly different than the other X12 variants which use the Neox hole pattern and probably are re-labeled Neox bindings.
