Whistler in mid-April - worth it?

Hi everyone,

I'm just curious about everyone's input. I will in Vancouver for work mid-April, and I have booked 3 days before in Whistler. It saves on the flight, but it's still not exactly cheap. Given the really warm forecast, I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile endeavor. If it gets really bad, it may not be worth spending the money there. Any thoughts? Past experience? This would be my first time in Whistler. I have skied in Colorado a lot, but never in BC, so I'm not sure what to expect.

 Thank you

What really warm forecast?  Whistler should be fine in mid-April.  Sometimes it's still winter in the Alpine, but it's often sunny with great spring skiing.  There will be complete coverage.  There is no telling what the exact weather will be on the days you'll be there, but the chances are that you will have some good times.

When you're there be sure to ask around to figure out what areas are skiing well and what aren't. We can all predict that you'll want to stay high, in the alpine areas, and that mid-mountain and below might not be that great, but it's nice to talk to the mountain info people, any ski patrol you see, or just others on the chairlift. It's a big area and conditions can be really different depending on where you are. Or one of the free tours could be the ticket.
