Salomon X-Pro 120: Fit is sloppy after 30 days

I've skied 2 seasons on these boots for a total of about 30 days. They were properly fit and are very comfortable, which was part of the reason I bought them (having come from a race background and being sick of painful boots). These boots perform pretty decent considering the medium stiffness and heat molded shells/liners; but recently I've had to start cranking my buckles super hard, almost to the max setting on the top two buckles to get any real control on steeps. If I don't crank down and tighten up my power strap an extra inch (which I think you're not supposed to do) than I'm not feeling that connected to the ski and feel like I'm moving too much in the boot. Otherwise, they're plenty of boot for groomers and such.

I'm wondering what might be my best options going into next season to get more performance out of these boots? I'd like to keep them for at least 2 more seasons, but don't want to sacrifice performance as they continue to pack out and loosen up. Am I just experiencing the reality of going from race boots to recreational boots, or is there something that can be done?

What size are your feet? (in centimeters)

What size are your boots?

custom insoles?

Buckle ladders can be moved in order to provide a secure hold around the ankle and heel.  Tighten the ankle buckle so that it hurts and then back off till it is just comfortable ski with it that tight.

Try running the power strap around the liner and tongue and inside the upper shell front flaps.  This will secure you to the back of the upper shell and improve performance.

what mike said.

also some of what you said.   This is not a race boot, and with the extra room for comfort, comes extra room to slide around and less control.   everything has a negitive and a possitive.   this is the neg with a non-race boot
