Thanks in advance.
Take the bonus day at Aspen. It has great snow conditions at that time, no crowds, fast lifts, and the town is awesome. Snowmass is huge and your family will have a blast skiing there. The four ski areas at Aspen I think are the best for skiing in all of Colorado. I would finish in April at Aspen for sure.
Are you going to drive or fly between the four places? In two weeks? My friends and I (all adults) did a 2-week MCP tour mid-season based on flying to SLC that included Sun Valley (2 ski days, 4 hr drive from SLC), Alta/Snowbird (3 days), and Aspen (4 days, 7 hr drive from SLC). Was fun but I would not want to add a 4th destination. I know Alta well and had been to Aspen once before. Definitely need at least 3 days at Aspen in order to explore at least 3 out of the 4 mountains.
For 2014-15 I got the bonus day at Aspen. But I knew I would be in Denver in late March for another reason. My ski buddy picked me up in Denver. We skied A-Basin on the way to Aspen. Had a powder day at Snowmass. Spring skiing at Ajax the next day. Total slush by the following afternoon at Highlands with temps in the 60s at the base. We drove to Alta for our annual stay at Alta Lodge afterwards. Mixed conditions the next two weeks in LCC in early April, including a few powder storms. Aspen closes earlier in April than Alta. Snowbird stays open even longer. Of course, closing dates are mostly business decisions and not based on snow coverage in late season. Obviously, no way to predict conditions for late season 2017 at this point.
Perhaps @Tony Crocker will stop by. His home mountain is Mammoth.
I think it would be pretty unusual for you to not like Alta/Snowbird. You might add your dates to the ongoing LCC thread if you have any interest in potentially meeting up with other Bears.
