Big precipitation (snow?) prediction, on way to California 2nd week March 2016!!!

Massive storm predicted to come to California; if anyone with frequent flyer miles wants to take a good chance on a late trip; note these predictions more than 3-days out are notoriously variable; but this one doesn't look like its going away.  Yes, that dark gray is 10+ inches of precipitation - meaning 10 inches of water, hopefully 10 feet of snow, next week (http://wxmaps.org/pix/prec1.html)

Since I am local, I brought my skis in for a wax.

Looks like the Sierras could get some incredible amounts. Hope that happens - and that the storms make their way across the Great Basin afterward since we're headed to the Wastach next week.

There's some very good, though guardedly optimistic, predictions about a coming Sierra Snowpocalypse on today's Wasatch Snow Forecast web site.

Hoping for the best for both CA and UT.

I hope this the start of a "parade of storms" that carries snow to the region into May. I will be in Utah in mid late April.

Seems like the west sometimes goes through a snow drought that lasts for weeks between mid late Feb to March.
