Weekend day trip from Longmont CO

Thread Starter
We'll be staying in Longmont over the weekend and would like to break away for a couple of day trips. Any opinion on Eldora vs Loveland (Eldora will be closer) for weekend day trips? I've never been to either. Will have 2 kids with me, both good skiers, stay primarily on blues.

The diplomatic answer is to do a day at each. They provide a nice contrast. Eldora is the size if a good New England ski area with many traditional tree-lined runs, a separate beg-int trail pod, and pretty views of Barker Reservoir. Loveland is bigger with a ton of above treeline intermediate skiing and provides the opportunity for views from atop the Continental Divide. Believe E is about 60 mins and L about 90 mins from your location. Maybe do L on Sat so you don't get mixed up with Sun PM traffic on I70. The drive thru the canyon to E can be a little tricky in snowy conditions.

I would personally go to Loveland.  I think you will get more for your money.  Loveland is about $60 and Eldora is about $90.  The snow is really awesome up there right now as well.  But you have to drive on route 70 to get to loveland.  I don't know!!!
