Once a skier can turn left and right, which is  most everyone once they have been on skis for a couple hours, improvement becomes about refining the methods used to make ski turns.   I have never coached from the perspective that the skier is doing something wrong.  If they can turn left and right, improvement is  not about what's wrong with what they are doing but about replacing what they are doing with something that works better.   YM

I would take that a step further and add strategic solutions vary according to the constantly changing situations. No one size fits all approach can ever be offered in that highly variable environment.
As teachers we face the problem of expressing global truths like focussing pressure on the outside ski without turning that ideal into a rigid, dogmatic mindset in our students. A phenomenon we see all the time here at Epic when a post challenges another members dogmatic beliefs. Our words matter and presenting any change needs to include the idea that the specific solutions we suggest always have consequences. Some of those consequences are immediate and some occur later in that turn, or set of turns. Some are intended and compliment our intent, others are less obvious and can have a negative impact on those turns.
