I am going to drive from PC to Colorado Springs and back in late June. There are several possible routes. One via Hwy 40 that goes through Vernal Utah and then Steamboat Springs, Another that goes near Moab and then down I-70. I could then detour through Aspen or check out I-70 resorts on way. Any way, if anyone has any ideas of the best route and/or cool places to stop along the way, I'd be interested to hear it. I have a little time so looking for ideas on cool places to stop along the way. Could break trip up a bit even though it could be done in 1 day.

Either US40 or I70 routes will get you to Colorado Springs, and either could be done in one long day. I'd go from PC through Heber City and down to Provo and then catch US6 over Soldier Summit, through Price and out to I70. I70 will get you to Glenwood Springs and a great Hot Springs Pool and reasonable o/night lodging. Next morning up the valley to Aspen and over Independence Pass to US 24 where you can decide to take US 24 south through Buena Vista and then east towards South Park and down over Ute Pass into Colorado Springs. You could go north on US 24 after you come off Independence Pass, go through Leadville and follow the signs directing you over Fremont Pass to Copper Mtn,, Frisco, and Breckenridge. After dining in Breck you could go over Hoosier Pass to Fairplay in South Park on CO9. CO9 will also get you to US24 and Ute Pass and Colorado Springs.
Should be a great trip in late June. Enjoy.
