Big sky parking advise

Will be driving to Big Sky daily. Need suggestions on where to park. Would it work to park in the lot at the base of Moonlight Basin? Thanks

I believe so.

There is also a free parking lot that's about a 5-minute walk (well, maybe 10) to the main base near the Summit Hotel.  You can ski part of it if you walk up the hill a touch and pole across.

Here's map - see "free day parking"  http://bigskyresort.com/Documents/Plan%20A%20Trip/Map_FacilityMap.pdf

Of course, you can pay to park right at the main base.

Last year there was a free jitney that transported people from the free lot to the base area.

The lot at Moonlight Lodge is not open to the public until late in the afternoon. If you have tickets and skis, the least walking is from the pony express chair in Moonlight. I haven't been there this year but assume it is still available. Walk a couple hundred yards get on pony express from there you can ski down to Iron Horse and then take fast lane to the village or ski Moonlight side. Madison basin is another option. Six Shooter and off you go.

How big a group?  Are you thinking of booting up at the car or in the lodge?  Will the group be skiing pretty much all day?  Not much to do at that Moonlight base if some people are finished earlier.
