Flash flood warning at snowshoe!

Soooo, after a couple good weeks with snow and cold temps finally, of course days before I leave for snowshoe it's alllllll rain! My question is, in the general area for which the weather report is for, is it much different actually on the mountain? Being less than 5,000 alt feet, my guess is no.. Anyone else heading to snowshoe? I'll be there wed-sat

Snowshoe is a little cooler than weather.gov and .com report, but not by much.

They can withstand rain though so i wouldn't be worried much.

skied there till lunch yesterday, in the rain.  Yes, lots of runoff but base is in decent shape, though they will need to make snow if they hope to make it through Easter (which is what they've announced).  It will rain there again Wed, though- this is a pretty big, warm system coming into the mid-Atlantic.

Snow thu-fri, if you're there that long!

I'll be skiing thurs & fri.. Looks like some downpours and wind tomorrow :/

Was it icy or just too warm to refreeze?

no ice at all- was above freezing (WELL above) all weekend.  Absolutely soft spring snow!  I've never had so much fun on lower Shay's- it was so soft they could've reclassified it a blue!  It hasn't gotten below freezing since, I think.

However...looks like rain today, then temp drops quickly tonight and stay below freezing through Sunday. Should see 5-8" Thurs, a few more Fri?

Groomers will have their hands full as the base hardens back up, that's for sure.

Poured rain wed then switched to snow late, no snow on the ground prior.. Went out thurs and fri and had amazing conditions! No ice, just powder! It was great! Silver creek was especially powdery.. Snowed nonstop
