I am an advanced to expert skier, enjoy skiing fast and hate if skis don't hold on icy conditions or are unstable at fast speeds. That said, I am looking for a ski that I can take anywhere, even if friends want to spend a weekend going off-piste.
Therefore, I looked around the internet and decided to test the mentioned K2, which I feel pretty good on. Unfortunately, the shops in the area I'm in right now do not have the MX83, only LX82 which I am going to try tomorrow. Reading a little more, I was surprised they recommended the LX82 as a viable alternative for the K2 since it's a much lighter ski and not stable at very high speeds. Is that correct? Also, while I have skied all my life I only recently started reading about skiing and technology and I have no experience how I should feel on skis. It's like wine - you might like it but you don't know how good it can get.
I really have a hard time which ski to decide on and wether you guys could give me some input on the two.
I am 26 years old, 6 feet tall (183 cm) and weigh 81 KG (179 pounds).
What do you guys think? If I feel good on the Rictor but I would consider buying the MX83 (or even 88?) over the internet if I find convincing information that they are superior.
Thanks a lot for your help!
