Best Way to Spend $250 on a Skiing Action Cam

Thread Starter

Ended up with a $250 credit at BH Photo and don't really need anything but am thinking about some sort of GoPro or alternative for skiing with my kids, selfies, etc. Probably need a chest harness and selfie stick.

If I stick to a $250 budget what is the best deal right now? A GoPro Hero 4 Session is $199, so are the older GoPro 3s. Or ???

And what is the best stick or pole attachment if I don't want to have to carry it around all day?

I just really don't want to attach a mount to my helmet.

And the single battery is good for an hour or so? Or should I just buy spares from the get-go?

Like most things, I say I am not going to drop $700-plus into a set up but gateway drugs....

Thanks

been wondering about the quailty of video on that session camera myself. I'm trying to get into a hero3 black for under 250 before the snow starts flying
