Me Advanced Expert Groomer skier, 190 lbs, 5ft 11, skiing on a 7 din. Love hi speed groomer cruising, no crashes for 10 or 15 years. Always wondered at 68 years old what would happen if I ever did a yard sale and now I know. Good shape with tennis 3 or 4 times a week, lifting weights for 3 months now and a occasional spinning class.
Skiing at Holiday Valley Monday, speed according to ski tracks was 49mph and caught a edge. Immediately threw all my weight forward as I learned from my old Volkl P9 210 and 203 days but instead of recovering somehow I was thrown backwards out of both skis and broke a pole for the first time. Leki S, slammed my head on the hill and a slight strain to my neck and back. Nothing major thanks to the helmet and I am playing tennis tonight, went to the sauna and stretched out my sore areas with no problem. My friends verified I threw myself forward so I am thinking I might have come out of my bindings prematurely. I am definitely putting more pressure and torque on the skis with my new Lange RS 130.
Should I take my DIN to 8 or so?
Could I have prematurely released?
