I see some killer deals on the skis 2002-2009. Can I go that far back and still get a good ski.

No! Technology and ease of turn initiation has come a long way with race skis

I gather you like the rc4 WC better than the SC. I was thinking the SC so I could get a 170 and it would be better for the eastern smaller mountains to do a little Gs turning

In Fischer speak, RC4 just means its a race ski. SC is a recreational slalom ski. There are two - the WC and the Superior. The WC SC the higher performance ski of the two.

The RC4 WC SC is not designed to make GS turns, even in a 170 cm.  You can make GS turns on it, but if you should inadvertently get the ski to hook into a SL turn while traveling at GS speeds, you will regret it.

They make a nice RC4 WC RC for more GS ish turns.  As Jim says, the Superior is the inferior model.

Or you could say its more versatile. Depends on your point of view.

Daily drivers in the East?

RC4 Race SC is a very easy ski to do most anything.  Huge Sweet spot!

I've got about 400 days on the pair I have.  Like them better on most days (think loud powder) than some of the options.
