Never go outdoors in the winter NAKED
You might catch "WINDCHILL".!! ;-)
"There is no bad weather, just poor clothing selection"
On a more to topic note:
Change socks as soon as your feet get cold. Dry is good! Thin is good if your toes are crunched, (hate that)
Strange as it is, I really like "hot buns" under my ski pants on the cold days, especially if it's snowing, and the chairs have a dusting on them every time you sit down. Core heat, your butt is a lot of area! ;-)
Bib style ski pants. Warm kidneys, and your are warm all over. Pull in that powder skirt on your parka! Put that hood up for the chair ride, no one is looking!
Relieve the shoulder stress! (as mentioned above) the "reverse shrug" technique works wonders for me. Drop the shoulders, and feel the warmth rushing into the fingers.
Mittens! with light glove inserts. pull the mittens when needed, but keep the finger glove liners on till the last resort. I like mittens, 'cause you can pull warm hands out to do finger work, and then shove cold hands back into warm mittens. WIN WIN!
I run warm, and can't stand anything close fitting on my head or face. No mask, no balaclava etc. but a light weight soft fleece neck band to seal around the parka and vest collar is nice.
Oh ! Close the helmet vents ;-) forecast is for -10 this week end! I'll be practising what I say.
