Yes, easy drive - autoroute and a scenic drive along the lake past Lausanne and Montreux, with good parking at the bottom of the cable car.  Hire car at GVA is cheaper on the French side of the airport, usually (but make sure the car has the Swiss road tax sticker).

We've never been so I have no idea where we will be either but hopefully we will find where the best snow is :)  The piste map makes navigating Killington look like child's play.

We got a good rate on the Swiss side.  Two years ago when we rented we were told only the Swiss side rentals come with snow tires, which we were thankful for having.  Perhaps the French side has snows now?
