Scratches on the waxing iron

So, I just finished waxing 3 skis and 2 snowboards for the first time with my new Toko iron and noticed that there were fine swirls on the base of the iron.  I made sure to wipe the bases clean so I'm sure the scratches are from the edges.

Should I worry or even care about the minor scratches?

No need to worry

But I run a stone over the waxing iron from time to time.  Not every day,  but maybe after feeling a catch.

Not likely that a scratch on the iron will be deeper than the wax film,  but smooth gliding over the ski base is it's own reward.

No.

What Joe S said.

However you might also make sure you've removed any hanging burrs from the base edge before waxing.
